When should I meet with you to discuss a Couture project?
We recommend that you start the Couture design process 4-6 months prior to your event. Creativity takes time. It is best to start early.
How much do Little q Designs Couture invitations cost?
Our couture design projects begin at $1,500. Your project cost will depend on complexity of design, materials and supplies, printing method (digital, offset, letterpress, engraving, etc.), hand craftsmanship, enclosure cards, and envelopes.
Can I get a price estimate?
Please call us with the details of your event and we’ll create a project cost estimate. Please allow five business days for quote creation.
Can I still work with you if I don't live in Seattle?
We prefer to meet in person to get to know your personality and put a face with a name. However, it is possible to work electronically or over the phone. Please call us for more details.
Can you send me a sample?
Our couture design process includes custom mock-ups for each client. Please contact us for an appointment.
How many invitations should I order?
In this case, it's better to have a few extra than run short! You should order 10-15% more invitations than you anticipate using. You may need to resend a few invitations or you may need to add a few unexpected guests to your list. Reduce your stress and add 10-15% more than you think you'll need.
When should I place my order?
Etiquette states that wedding invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks prior to your big day. That translates to starting the process with Little q 11-12 weeks ahead of time. For social, baby and corporate invitations you can reduce the time line by about 2 weeks.
What is offset printing?
Offset is a process of printing by indirect image transfer. The result is a flat printed piece.
What is letterpress printing?
Dating back to the 1400's letterpress printing is the oldest and original method of printing ink on paper. Compared to other methods, letterpress provides greater visual definition and texture to the type or artwork. Ink is applied to the raised portion of a hard plastic printing plate, which is then pressed on paper to create a relief impression. Letterpress has enjoyed a revival over the last 20 years as artists recognize the intrinsic value of this beautiful printing method.
What is foil stamping?
Foil stamping uses heat and metallic film in a specialty printing process that produces a shiny or matte design on paper.
What is blind embossing?
Embossing raises an image above the paper surface. Blind embossing creates a raised impression of the image with no use of ink. Artwork or letters can be created in paper using a die under pressure.
